Michael Stewart makes in a 'heartbeat' Hearts transfer confession as Jambos told to sign rival star

Michael Stewart has named the Premiership rival he would sign for Hearts in a 'heartbeat'.

Robbie Neilson has been busy adding to his squad this summer as he gets set to juggle domestic and European football. The capital club kick off their Europa League bid this coming Thursday as they face FC Zurich in the first leg of their two-legged play-off tie. The winner advances to the group stages of the competition with the runner-up guaranteed group stage football by dropping into the Europa Conference League proper.

Alan Forrest, Kye Rowles, Lewis Neilson, Alex Cochrane, Jorge Grant and Lawrence Shankland have all come in the door so far. In the attacking third the capture of the Scotland international adds to the firepower with Liam Boyce and Euan Henderson in the first-team picture at Tynecastle. Hearts are set for a lot of Thursday - Sunday football in the coming months and with the topic of discussion turning to that subject on BBC Sportsound, pundit Stewart named Livingston's Joel Nouble as a player they should go and bring in the door labelling a move as a 'no-brainer.'

Former Jambo and fellow pundit Allan Preston was in agreement rating the hitman as a 'brilliant' signing for any club.

Stewart said: "Joel Nouble, go out and get him. I'd go and get him in a heartbeat.

"From the start of the season I was surprised that no-one else was sniffing around and looking to take a chance on him. It's not even taking a chance because even if you take out the goals he's starting to add to his game this season, he's an absolute nuisance.

"If you look at that top end for Hearts, as an other option into their team for example. In terms of Thursday-Sunday and the number of games you're going to add into the calendar somebody like Joel Nouble is a no-brainer for me."

Preston added: "100 per cent. Having watched him at Arbroath and again today, he's a handful. He's powerful and strong.

"There was a spell when he shoved Hanlon off the balls, runs 40 yards and moves Cadden out the way as well.

"Even his goal. He gets quickly turned, runs at Hanlon and goes by him as if he's not there and scores.

"I don't think he's the most natural finisher but what he will do is create chances for others with his power and pace.

"I think he would be a brilliant signing for any club but it would be great if Hearts could get him, without a doubt."
