Michael Owen makes FA Cup final prediction ahead of Man City vs Watford

Michael Owen has tipped Manchester City to "land an unprecedented treble" when they take on Watford in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday.

City lost their last FA Cup final against Wigan Athletic in 2013 and will hope lightening doesn't strike twice under the Wembley arch.

Speaking with BetVictor as their Brand Ambassador, Owen pointed to the stats which stack hugely in City's favour:

He said: "The Hornets have lost their last 10 games against City in all competitions and Pep Guardiola has a perfect win record - six out of six - against the Hertfordshire side."

A penalty shoot-out victory over Chelsea in February saw Guardiola's side win back-to-back League Cups, before edging their second consecutive Premier League title with victory at Brighton on the final day of fixtures.

This leaves City on the cusp of English football history, winning the FA Cup would see them become the first English team to secure all three domestic honours in one season.

Owen praised the performances of key players such as Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling who he tipped to shine, describing them as "outstanding players this term" and they will need to be on their game to avoid the Hornets' sting.

As for Watford, they are making only their second FA Cup final appearance - the last being in 1984 where they suffered defeat at the hands of Everton .

One man who will be making the trip is Jose Holebas whose red card against West Ham last weekend was successfully overturned. Meanwhile, Owen identified Gerard Deulofeu as the main threat for Watford:

He said: "Gerard Deulofeu is, arguably, in the form of his life for Javi Gracia 's side - who have lost their last three - and I expect to see a big game from the former Barcelona and Everton striker."

It promises to be an intriguing final with City appearing the overwhelming favourites. Watford enter the frame as underdogs, but will be determined to deny their opponents a place in the record books.
