Former Manchester United striker Michael Owen believes Leeds will frustrate his old employers in this weekend's Premier League clash.
The two sides lock horns in the top-flight for the first time since February 2004, with the historic rivals facing off just twice in domestic cup competitions since then.
While Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side may be favoured for a victory, Leeds have shown on numerous occasions this season that they're capable of upsetting the apple cart and will be full of confidence following a 5-2 win against Newcastle United in midweek.
Solskjaer's side, meanwhile, has continued to look shaky at times and Owen believes Leeds could take their opportunity by frustrating the hosts at Old Trafford.
"What a great sight it is to see this match back on the fixture list. Leeds travel to Old Trafford in the Premier League for the first time since February 2004. That day the sides drew 1-1 and I think this will be another tight match," he told BetVictor.
"Leeds are at their best when teams come at them. They are excellent at smothering sides and can really run the legs off you if given the chance.
"I think Man United will need to be wary of that. If Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has done his homework, he may approach with caution as they won’t want to get caught out on the counter-attack.
"If that materialises, we could be in for a cagey start. However, it only takes one goal to light the touch paper in a derby.
"I can’t help thinking back to Leeds match against Liverpool at the start of the season. If they approach this in a similar way, I think we could be in for an entertaining match with the sides ultimately sharing the points."
