Bayern Munich have ruled out Michael Olise leaving the club this summer, also confirming the forward’s contract does not have a release clause amid links to Liverpool.
Olise has become a key player for Bayern since joining from Crystal Palace in July 2024, scoring 36 goals and providing 50 assists in 94 appearances in all competitions.
This season, the Frenchman has registered 43 direct goal involvements (16 goals and 27 assists) in 39 appearances, helping Bayern to remain on course to win a treble which consists of the Bundesliga title, Champions League and DFB-Pokal.
However, speculation regarding Olise’s future has ramped up in the wake of Mohamed Salah making the surprise announcement that he will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season.
According to reports in Germany, the Reds have earmarked Olise as a potential replacement for Salah this summer.
If German news outlet Bild are to be believed then Liverpool are willing to spend €200million (£173million) on Olise, thus smashing the British transfer record once again having signed Alexander Isak for £125m last summer from Premier League rivals Newcastle.
LaLiga giants Real Madrid are also said to be preparing a swoop for the 24-year-old, but Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl has delivered an update which serves as a blow to both interested parties.
Speaking to Bild, Eberl said: “We’re not even thinking about that [transfer rumours].
“He’s an FC Bayern player and has all the opportunities here that top players could wish for.
“Michael has a contract with us until 2029, without a release clause. We're relaxed.”
Olise and Bayern could come up against Liverpool in the Champions League semi-finals this season as the two teams were placed on the silver path during the knockout phase draw last month.
The Reds, though, must overcome holders Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals as they seek revenge for their last-16 exit last season.
Bayern, meanwhile, will take on Real Madrid in the last-eight hoping to avoid a fifth straight elimination at the hands of the 15-time winners in hope of being crowned champions of Europe for the first time since 2020.
