Michael McIntyre apologises after new BBC show The Wheel ends in disaster

Michael McIntyre was left 'horrified' after his new BBC Show The Wheel ended in disaster.

The Wheel sees three contestants join forces with a variety of celebrity "expert" guests in a bid to win life-changing sums of money.

Each episode features three contestants who find themselves on a wheel located directly beneath the main celebrity wheel.

After one person is selected at random, they find themselves elevated to the centre of the celebrity wheel above and remain there until they get a question wrong.

But Saturday's show ended in an outcome show bosses never predicted - none of the contestants won anything, reports the Mirror.

Michael said, astonished: "This show is supposed to raise the mood of the nation, this is worse than Newsnight!

As Alison Hammond roared with laughter in the background, Michael joked: "This is so depressing! I would rather watch a Prime Ministerial briefing!

"We never thought nobody would win! It maybe came up in one meeting, and then we were like, 'Naa'.

"One in four, three times? Naa. And look at us now, a bunch of losers."

He also could not believe how hilariously badly the celebrities, including radio presenter Tony Blackburn, and Love Island star Maura Higgins, had performed when they were meant to be helping the players.

He continued: "I am so horrified. Tony has lost his job because he has embarrassed himself to much with his questions.

"Maura can't go back to Ireland.

"This has been the worst night of my life, I am never speaking to anybody here ever again.

"It says on the autocue, 'Thank you to the celebrity experts', but I don't think I should read that one."
