Michael Beale 'never forget' address as Rangers boss reflects on first season as a manager

Michael Beale admits he 'will never forget' his first year as a manager as he reflected on his journey that started at QPR and ended with Rangers.

The Light Blues boss is currently gearing up for his first full campaign in charge at Ibrox after returning late last year. He previously worked under Steven Gerrard as No2 and when the chance of a return 'home' came up to replace Giovanni van Bronckhorst in the big chair it was one that he could not turn down.

His recruitment drive is well underway as he bids to end Celtic's dominance and qualify for the Champions League. Ange Postecoglou is out the door at the Hoops for a crack at the EPL with Tottenham and it could be Brendan Rodgers he faces in the dugout next term.

Beale admits his first campaign as a boss has had lots of highs and disappointments along the way and experiences for a lifetime as he looked back over his campaign with a highlights reel of best bits from both QPR and Rangers.

He also expressed his gratitude to the players, fans and staff at both clubs in an end of season address.

He wrote on Instagram: "2022/23 will always be a season that I will never forget, as it was my 1st season as a manager. Lots of highs and disappointments along the way, games won and lost, great goals and experiences for a lifetime.

"I owe a huge amount of thanks to the players, fans and staff at both clubs. The season started at QPR with a fantastic young team with lots of energy and talent.

"In November, it was back “home” to Rangers FC and a group of people that are like a family and have shared so much together.

"It’s a huge honour to be the manager of this wonderful football club. Now the season has ended, I am excited and optimistic about the future and what the new season brings for everyone at Rangers FC - see you in July."
