CHIANG MAI: Authorities seized 500,000 methamphetamine pills in parcels left at a logistics firm in Fang district on Monday evening.

Police accompanied by rangers from the Pha Muang task force went to the Flash Express Fang branch in tambon Wiang after receiving a call from the branch manager.

The manager of the logistics firm branch said a man had come into the office with five parcels. The man told staff that he would leave the packages there, and he immediately left.

The manager feared the packages might contain illegal goods and tried to contact the sender via the phone number on the parcels. There was no answer. The manager called police.

When police examined the parcels, they found the 500,000 methamphetamine pills inside and seized the drugs.

An investigation was continuing.
