Met Office latest on Storm Sebastien as yellow weather warning remains in place

The Met Office's yellow weather warning for Bristol will remain in place throughout this morning.

The warning for rain was announced yesterday and will remain active across the South West until 12pm today (Wednesday, November 27).

Met Office forecasters have warned the Storm Sebastien torrents could cause flooding on roads, increasing journey times.

Flooding of homes and businesses is also possible, the weather experts say.

The downpours are set to ease in Bristol at 12pm, with lighter rain expected until about 5pm, when it is predicted to stop altogether.

The Met Office forecasts a cloudy but dry evening in the city.

A tropical storm from the Atlantic, Storm Sebastien has been accelerating north-east.

With the weather warning for the South West set to end today, it will be the turn of northern parts of the country to prepare for rain.

Storm Sebastien is set to leave the UK on Thursday.
