Met Office issues Leeds with severe 17-hour weather warning amid fears of huge disruption

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for Leeds with thick fog expected to make driving dangerous.

The fog is expected to roll in across the city from 7pm today and will settle in until around midday tomorrow (Tuesday).

"Fog is likely to cause slower travel and possible disruption in places," said the forecaster.

This is likely to cause:

  • Slower journey times and possible hazardous driving conditions, with delays to bus and train services also possible.
  • There is a chance of delays or cancellations to flights.

The warning covers the entirety of Leeds but also a huge amount of Yorkshire.

The affected region includes Sheffield, Bradford, Huddersfield and York, as well as Scarborough on the Yorkshire coast and Colburn in the northern reaches of the county.
