INDORE: The Met department on Wednesday warned that there were significant chances of heatwave in some districts of Indore division in next five days.
“There is no Western disturbance expected anytime soon. As such, the temperatures are to soar steadily henceforth,” Met scientist Ved Prakash Singh said.
Hats and umbrellas are out in the households across the city as Indoreans gear up to brave the scorching sun during the day time.
“Stopping at the nearest coconut water vendor and sugarcane juice stall to beat the heat has become a part of daily routine,” sales professional Arundhati Pal said.
As per the weathermen there would be continuous rise in day temperature of Indore with fall of pressure in April.
Winds during this month are generally dry and from westerly direction and change from moderate to strong during afternoon hours a few days in a month. Thunderstorms too have been recorded in the month of April on some occasions mostly during late afternoons or evenings which have been accompanied by strong winds or squall and sometimes with hail.
Indore recorded 38.7 degree Celsius, 2.4 degrees above normal maximum temperature on Wednesday, while the minimum temperature recorded was 21.2 degree Celsius which is 2.7 degree above normal minimum temperature. The relative humidity was 30 per cent in the morning and in the evening it was 12 per cent.
