Men released on bail after Golders Green ambulance arson attack

  • Two British men, aged 45 and 47, arrested in connection with the Golders Green ambulance attack, have been released on bail until April.
  • The men were detained on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life before searches at addresses in Kilburn and Kings Cross, with further searches in north-west London.
  • The Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism Policing London is leading the investigation into the attack on four Hatzola ambulances.
  • Police are investigating whether an Islamist group with possible Iranian state links was behind the arson, which caused gas canisters to explode and damaged nearby properties.
  • An enhanced policing plan, including highly visible armed patrols, will continue in vulnerable areas across London to reassure the public, particularly the local Jewish community.
