Do Manchester United have buy back clauses on Memphis Depay, Wilfried Zaha and Adnan Januzaj?

Former Manchester United player Memphis Depay is being linked with a move back to the Premier League, this time with Tottenham.

A report in the Mirror over the weekend said Spurs are considering a £50million swoop for the Lyon forward, who has impressed since moving to Ligue 1 nearly three years ago.

United paid PSV Eindhoven £26.3million for Memphis in 2015 and handed the Eredivisie champion the number seven shirt ahead of the new season.

The Netherlands international was selected in every matchday squad by Louis van Gaal in 2015-16 until the former United manager decided to omit Memphis from the FA Cup final squad against Crystal Palace.

Memphis persevered at United but made just one start under Jose Mourinho before he joined Lyon in January 2017 for a fee rising up to £21million.

United did insist on a buy-back option when he moved to Lyon but there is no suggestion they will use it.

The club also insisted on a buy-back clause in Adnan Januzaj's Real Sociedad contract, having done likewise with Sean Goss when he switched to Queens Park Rangers in the 2017 January transfer window.

However, United did not insert a buy-back clause in the deal that saw Wilfried Zaha return to Crystal Palace on a permanent deal in 2015.

Zaha was linked with a move to Arsenal over the summer but that transfer did not materialise and the Gunners eventually recruited the Ivory Coast forward Nicolas Pepe from Lille instead.
