Mel B in restraining order riddle amid claims she could 'sue ex-nanny' for 'staying with daughter'

Mel B is reportedly considering suing her former nanny over claims she has flouted a restraining order by spending time with the star's daughter.

The Spice Girls singer, 44, has reportedly accused Lorraine Gilles, 29, who was previously accused of wrecking her marriage to Stephen Belafonte, of breaking the terms of an injunction by looking after Madison, eight, who she shares with her ex.

In pictures obtained by The Sun Gilles is seen at the same bungalow as Belafonte, 44, and was also photographed picking Madison up from school.

Back in 2017, Mel obtained a five-year restraining order against Gilles, with a judge ordering the nanny to stay at least 100 yards away from the star and not to contact her.

A representative for Mel told Mirror Online the order also bans Gilles from going near Mel's children.

Mirror Online has also contacted a representative for Belafonte for clarification on whether the injunction was extended to include the star's kids.

Mel is currently fighting for custody of Madison.

A source told the newspaper: "There were valid reasons why she did not want Lorraine around her children, hence a stayaway order was put in place.

"To think they feel completely entitled to flout this is breathtaking to her. She is beside herself."

Gilles began working for the former couple in 2009 when she was just an 18-year-old student who had arrived in the US from Germany.

She admitted during a legal deposition that she had sex with him Belafonte 10 to 15 times, despite previously denying the affair.

Mel alleged that Belafonte impregnated Gilles and later paid for her to have an abortion, but she denied the child was his.

She also insisted the sex was at Mel's request.

Mel wants to bring Madison to the UK to live with her and her other children Phoenix, 21, and Angel, 12.

In legal papers filed in December Mel said she discovered Gilles was providing care for her daughter.

She asked the court to stop the nanny from seeing her because of "the explicit 'stay away' provision".

Mel added that she thought it was "wholly inappropriate and disturbing" in light of the "history between Stephen, myself and Lorraine".
