Meghan Markle to give first TV interview since royal exit next week

Meghan Markle will give her first interview since stepping down as a royal next week.

The Duchess of Sussex, 38, will appear on ABC's Good Morning America on Monday to discuss Elephant, the Disney Plus documentary she narrated.

It will be the first interview she's given since she and her husband Prince Harry stepped down as senior royals and left the UK for a new life in Los Angeles.

News of Meghan's TV appearance was confirmed when a fan account shared a clip of it on Instagram on Saturday.

The trailer doesn't include anything Meghan says but shows her talking to the camera.

A voiceover says: "On GMA Monday, Meghan Markle with an exclusive first look at the Disney documentary Elephant. "

In the video Meghan looks glam with her hair worn down in a sleek style.

She dons a crisp white shirt and appears calm and confident in front of the camera.

Elephant was also Meghan's first job since stepping down as a senior royal.

But her performance received mixed reviews from critics and she was branded "cheesy" and "eager to please".

The last time Meghan spoke in public was during a Zoom call to catch up with members of the Hubb Community Kitchen, who she worked with on a cookbook.

She and Prince Harry have been spotted out and about LA delivering food parcels during the coronavirus crisis.

The city has been in lockdown and residents have been told they must wear a mask while out in public.

The couple have moved to the glitzy city after initially planning to move to Canada when they left the UK.
