Meghan Markle's friend has shared this sweet photo of Princess Lilibet on Instagram to mark her second birthday.
Misan Harriman reposted the snap on her social media page with the simple caption: "Happy birthday". The picture shows the tot seated in the sunshine wearing a blue dress and was taken on June 6, 2022, two days after her first birthday.
Meghan's friend, who was the official photographer at Lilibet Diana's first birthday party at Frogmore Cottage, also shared another adorable photograph for Prince Archie's fourth birthday on May 6, which fell on the same day as the King and Queen's Coronation.
Harry and Meghan are thought to have celebrated Lilibet's birthday privately at their home in California.
She was born on June 4 2021, having been named after two significant women in her father Harry's life.
Harry's late grandmother Queen Elizabeth had the nickname Lilibet from childhood, while the middle name Diana comes from his late mother Princess Diana.
The Duke gave an insight into his feelings at the time of his daughter's birth in his memoir Spare, writing: "I wanted to say: Hello. I wanted to say: Where have you come from?
"I wanted to say: Is it better there? Is it peaceful? Are you frightened? Don’t be, don’t be, all will be well. I’ll keep you safe."
The first photograph of Lilibet was officially released in December 2021 as part of the Sussex family Christmas card for that year.
In a statement published by the Archewell Foundation, the couple said: "This year, 2021, we welcomed our daughter, Lilibet, to the world. Archie made us a ‘Mama’ and a ‘Papa,’ and Lili made us a family."
But details of Lilibet's first two years have mostly been kept private by the couple, who are no longer working royals and are pursuing their own projects from their home in the US.
