Meghan Markle has returned to acting eight years after she quit the film industry.
The Duchess of Sussex, who shot to fame in the US legal drama Suits, retired from acting in 2017 just before getting engaged to Prince Harry.
Now the 44-year-old is set to star in a Hollywood comedy called Close Personal Friends alongside the likes of Lily Collins, Brie Larson, Jack Quaid and Henry Golding.
Meghan will be playing herself in the film about two couples, one famous and the other not, The Sun reported.
She was reportedly on set on Wednesday in Pasadena, Los Angeles for the Amazon MGM Studios production.
“This is a massive moment for Meghan and signifies a return to doing what she truly loves. She has been swamped with offers but this one felt right,” an insider told the outlet.

The source went on: “It is Meghan’s way of gently putting her toe back in the water and seeing how she enjoys being back on set.
“Everyone involved is super-excited, and have been sworn to secrecy about her involvement. Prince Harry is, of course, really supportive and quite simply wants Meghan to do whatever brings her joy.”
The Standard has contacted Meghan’s team for comment.
Meghan is best known for playing high-powered lawyer Rachel Zone in Suits but has lso had roles in films like Horrible Bosses, Get Him To The Greek and Remember Me.
Meghan and Harry - who share children Archie and Lilibet - stepped down as working royals in 2020 and moved to the US.

After leaving the royal bubble, the couple carved out a different career for themselves in the limelight with podcasts, multiple Netflix docuseries and lifestyle brands.
She recently revealed she “sometimes” misses acting and was sad to not say a proper goodbye to her Suits family.
“It was such a unique time, because we couldn’t say that I was leaving, necessarily,” she said on the Aspire podcast with Emma Grede.
“It was speculated. So, after seven years on the series, we couldn’t have a going away party.
“I couldn’t say my goodbyes… If my crew’s watching, I miss you guys. I wish I could have said bye.”

Reflecting on watching Meghan acting, Harry said in his autobiography Spare: “I’d witnessed her and a cast mate mauling each other in some sort of office conference room.
“It would take electric shock therapy to get those images out of my head.”
Meghan previously claimed she struggled to land roles in her early acting career.
She recalled getting plenty of auditions but being regularly rejected by directors - which was a “lot to chip away at your self-esteem”.
She once worked as a “briefcase girl”, the name for models who hold suitcases full of cash, on the US version of Deal Or No Deal.
