Meghan Markle 'recreated romantic Botswana date for Harry with tents in their garden'

Meghan Markle reportedly surprised Prince Harry by recreating their romantic trip to Botswana by erecting tents in their garden.

The Duchess of Sussex, 38, is believed to have gone all out for Harry's 35th birthday in September by whisking him back to their trip to Africa.

Harry took Meghan on a holiday to Botswana in 2016 right at the start of their relationship, and the actress is believed to have been keen to bring back memories for him.

According to People.com, Meghan recreated their camping trip in minute detail from the tents to the sleeping bags.

A source said: "Last year, for Harry's birthday, Meghan recreated their Botswana camping adventures in their backyard.

"It's a place that means so much to them - and to Harry in particular - so Meghan wanted to bring that happy place to him on his day so she set up a tent, got sleeping bags, cooked dinner and recreated Botswana where they fell in love."

Harry asked Meghan to join him on the Botswana trip after they'd had just two dates in London and it's believed to be the time when the couple first fell in love.

They celebrated their second wedding anniversary this week and reportedly embraced the theme of cotton.

An insider told the site: "They love to do their own take on traditional wedding gifts.

"The first anniversary was paper, and Meghan wrote out the wedding speech and had it framed for him...

"This year, they both gave each other gifts based on 'cotton.' Undoubtedly, it was a very creative and romantic gesture as all their gifts are to one another."

The couple are now living in a glitzy Los Angeles mansion after leaving Frogmore Cottage for Canada when they stepped down as senior royals earlier this year.
