Meghan Markle pal shares cryptic post about "a******s" who ditched her

Meghan Markle's pal Jessica Mulroney has posted a cryptic jibe about "a*******s" who turned their back on her after she got caught up in a "white privilege" row.

The pair had been rumoured to have fallen out following a similar spat, but Mulroney has since claimed this is not the case.

Yesterday she shared an image on her Instagram saying she had experienced a "rough few months".

The Canadian stylist said: "Thank you to our true friends for sticking by us. We could never have made it without you.

"Silver lining: we finally know the a******s who we thought were our friends. Best gift we could have ever been given."

Last month she shared a statement on social media, which has since been deleted, calling Meghan "family" and "the kindest friend".

The 40-year-old wrote: “I’m going to tell this once and for all. Meghan and I are family. She is the kindest friend and has checked up on me everyday.

“Tabloid culture is atrocious. It creates lies and hurtful storyline. Stop feeding into it. Done.”

Meghan and Jessica became best friends after they met in Toronto when the royal was filming Suits.

Jessica's children also took part in Meghan's wedding to Prince Harry, with her daughter Ivy serving as bridesmaid and her twin sons John and Brian being page boys.

It had been claimed the best friends fell out after Jessica was accused by influencer Sasha Exeter of abusing her white privilege.

Sasha said Jessica had taken "offence" to her call for bloggers and social media stars to speak out in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.

The former athlete claimed Jessica had sent her a message which seemingly threatened to destroy her career.

Sasha, who has more than 82,000 Instagram followers, said it was an example of "textbook white privilege".

She said: "Listen, I am by no means calling Jess a racist but what I will say is this, she is very well aware of her wealth, her perceived power and privilege because of the color of her skin. And that, my friends, gave her the momentary confidence to come for my livelihood in writing."

After she went public with the message, Jessica issued an apology, which she posted on Sasha's Instagram page.

But the influencer later claimed that Jessica had issued another threat to her in a private message, in which Jessica threatened to take her to court over the row.

She posted an apology on her own Instagram page, admitting Sasha "rightfully called me out for not doing enough when it came to engaging in the important and difficult conversation around race."
