Meghan Markle 'not signing big money Dior fashion deal' despite Spotify axe

She's proved to be a loyal fan of Dior wearing its couture dresses and carrying its luxury handbags.

And rumours have swirled that Meghan Markle was poised to be unveiled as the new face of the designer brand in a big money partnership.

However, it has now been reported that the Duchess of Sussex is not set to sign a deal with the fashion house with a source denying rumours of an imminent deal.

It comes just days after it emerged that Meghan and husband Prince Harry's deal with Spotify came to an end after it would not be renewing the Archetypes podcast for a second season.

At the weekend, reports suggested that Meghan would join a well-paid bunch of celebrities including Rihanna and Jennifer Lawrence as a Dior ambassador.

The Duchess of Sussex wore a head-to-toe look from the brand for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee service last year.

And two years ago she carried a Lady Dior bag - the iconic style named after Princess Diana - to a Global Citizen concert in New York.

Harry has also inherited the love of Dior from his mother and wore a custom-made suit from the fashion house to the King's Coronation.

However, Dior sources have told The Telegraph they are "nonplussed as to how the story came about" while a spokesman for the Sussex also denied the rumour.

It comes as Harry and Meghan were among some of the most notable absences at King Charles' first Trooping the Colour birthday celebrations.

Thousands of people lined the Mall on Saturday to attend the first Trooping the Colour of King Charles III's reign, with the monarch riding on horseback joined by the Prince of Wales and the Princess Royal.

The celebration, which dates back more than 200 years, also marks King Charles 'official' birthday and featured hundreds of soldiers, horses and musicians in a parade.

But the King's youngest son and his wife did not attend any of the ceremony, nor did they appear on the balcony.

Instead, the couple is believed to have to have spent the day with their two children at their Californian home in Montecito, California.

Before the big day, the Mirror's royal editor Russell Myers explained the absence, saying: "The Sussexes’ absence will come as no surprise but the poignancy of the no-show will be noted as yet another missed opportunity for Harry and his family to sit down and start a new chapter in their relationship.

"It seems clear from sources across the pond, that Meghan as well as not being eager to attend the Coronation, had no desire to make the trip for the family gathering this weekend, in celebration of the monarch’s birthday."
