Meghan Markle in sweet nod to kids with subtle jewellery choices

Meghan Markle's choice of jewellery and attire is often forefront of the public's eye, but her sweet nods to her kids are often overlooked.

While both Meghan and husband Prince Harry have distanced themselves from certain members of their family, their love for their two children cannot be questioned.

The former Suits star, 41, stayed at home to be with son Archie on his fourth birthday earlier this month, while Prince Harry quickly returned to their life stateside following a whistle-stop visit for dad King Charles' Coronation.

Their youngest child Lilibet is soon to be two and the continued nods towards the tots have recently been on show by Meghan's choice of accessories.

Earlier this month she was spotted wearing a reported £150k worth of Princess Diana's jewellery while she enjoyed a hike in the sunshine.

But it's her kids her are the normal source of attention, according to jeweller Steven Stone, who has revealed the key items in her jewellery box.

The company's diamond expert, Maxwell Stone said: "Surprisingly, aside from her £120k engagement ring and selection of jewels that previously belonged to Princess Diana, she tends to opt for modest pieces.

"Meghan wears a comfortable mix of jewellery brands, from the luxe to affordable and many of her pieces pay subtle tribute to her family – more specifically, her two children, Archie and Lilibet - including her diamond eternity band, that features hers, Harry’s and Archie’s birthstones."

One piece in question, according to the jewellers, is her £330 letter necklace which she wore days before Archie was christened. The 18-karat solid gold necklace is made up of a miniature three-dimensional letter A for Archie which has been thread onto an adjustable chain.

It was said to have been gifted to the Duchess of Sussex by small Australian jewellery brand, Verse.

Stepping up the price ladder, but still holding the same sentimental value, is her constellation necklace which was first present in her 40th birthday celebrations.

The two pieces, which are worth in the region of £3,000, offer a subtle tribute to her two kids' star signs; Archie is a Taurus, while Lilibet is a Gemini.

She has also previously stepped out in a gold ring with a dainty L initial featured for her youngest child, while sporting a "Mummy" necklace on a number of occasions.
