Meghan forced to hand out free jam and offer refunds to fans after 'ordering glitch' plagues rosé release

The Duchess of Sussex has been forced to issue refunds and hand out free jars of jam after an ordering glitch.

Some fans of Megan who ordered products from her As Ever brand have been told they will not receive their purchases.

The announcement came just weeks after the Duchess, 43, launched her first wine offering, a 2023 Napa Valley Rosé.

Emails were sent out to customers explaining that orders could not be fulfilled due to “high demand”, The Telegraph reported.

As Ever said: “In addition to the refund, we want you to know that when the apricot spread is back in stock, you will be the first to receive it, free of charge.”

The jam typically retails at $9 (£6.50) per jar or $14 (£10) in keepsake packaging, although it is currently missing from the As Ever website.

A frustrated buyer said: "Just received an email from As Ever, they are unable to fulfill my apricot order but will give me a full refund and a free replacement when it becomes available again.

“I only have a half a jar of my raspberry spread left. It's war tomorrow!”

Another complained: "I hope they fix this. At the minimum comms should be out literally on the day instead of waiting for your product for a while and being disappointed."

Meghan’s jams are manufactured by the Republic of Tea, whose factory in Illinois is located 2,000 miles away from her and husband Prince Harry’s Montecito home.

The company also produces As Ever's sold-out orange blossom honey, which is priced at $28 (£20) per jar.

As Ever was unveiled in April, a month after the premiere of the Duchess’ eight-part Netflix cooking show With Love, Meghan, which has been renewed for a second series.

She released nine products, including jams, herbal teas and biscuit mixes, that sold out within 45 minutes.

Although Meghan launched her venture to promote her drinks and condiments, she has since revealed plans to branch into hospitality and entertainment.
