Meghan and Harry praised by viewers for 'brave' interview as couple 'speak their truth'

Viewers of Meghan and Harry's tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey have praised the pair for finally speaking their truth.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex's revealing discussion with the American presenter threw up a huge amount of discussion points, including Meghan saying she was "silenced" and how she had suicidal feelings.

And fans have flocked to social media to call the pair "brave" for speaking out about the issues they faced.

One user wrote on Twitter : "So much love for Harry doing what was right for him and his family and their mental health, dont [sic] care what anyone says, whether you're a celeb, politician, presenter, royalist, member of the monarchy, he is brave and there's no doubts about it."

Another responded during the show that Meghan is "a brave strong woman who is now strong enough to speak her truth".

A third added: "This interview with #MeghanMarkle is breaking my heart. Sharing her mental health struggles is so difficult, brave and important."

Indeed there was a lot of support for the couple's open and honest discussion surrounding mental health issues, with some viewers interacting using the hashtags #mentalhealth and #mentalhealthmatters to praise the duo.

Presenter Leah Charles-King tweeted simply: "THIS" followed by a comment urging people to be steer clear of typing negative comments towards the former Suits star following her admission that she had suicidal thoughts.

The pair were also praised for "standing up" to the royal family when it came to racist remarks.

Little Mix's Leigh-Anne Pinnock took to her personal Instagram account to share her support for the couple to her 6.4 million followers.

In a lengthy post alongside an image of a smiling Meghan, the singer praised the 39-year-old's strength and determination for "speaking out on her experiences showing the underlying racism lying within the royal establishment".

She also praised Harry for standing by his wife and child and for "being brave enough to say enough is enough, we’re out".

However, some viewers vented their belief that Meghan was acting during the interview with comments such as "best acting I've seen in ages" also popping up on the hashtag #MeghanandHarryonOprah.
