Meghan and Harry get 'taste of their own medicine' as they try to rebuild damaged reputation

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are being given a 'taste of their own medicine' as they desperately attempt to rebuild their reputation according to a royal commentator.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have suffered several huge blows in recent months after their contract with Spotify was cancelled.

Speculation is now spreading that the pair are being rejected by Hollywood's elite while Meghan is reportedly trying to distance herself from 'Brand Sussex'.

Royal biographer Tom Bower opined that the shocking allegations the Sussexes' made in their bombshell Netflix docuseries last night are now backfiring on the pair's reputation, the Scottish Daily Express reports.

The expert went on to say that he believes that Meghan in particular will be looking to row back on her attacks on the royal family during their infamous tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.

Speaking to OK!, he said: "They are beginning to taste the medicine that they handed out during the Oprah Winfrey interview.

"They’re finding it very, very hard to keep their brand reputable. They’re constantly having to defend themselves and they’re grasping for opportunities that don’t exist anymore.

"All she’s got is the baggage of the Oprah Winfrey interview and her damnation of the royal family in various successive interviews. That’s why she’s been so quiet the whole year.

"She knows they’ve probably gone too far and she doesn’t know how to get out of it now. What is fascinating is how it will end? What will the climax be?"

Meghan has seemingly been keeping a low profile since the beginning of 2023.

Her award-winning Archetypes podcast was scrapped by Spotify last night amid rumours that the digital music streaming giant had grown impatient over her lack of work and ideas as the Duchess was reportedly largely absent from recording.

However, Meghan did sign up with a major agency earlier this year and new reports say that she has apparently been tipped to take on a leading role in a sequel to the 1992 The BodyGuard as the former Suits actress makes a magnificent return to acting.

The couple are also still clinging onto their $100m Netflix deal which was rumoured to be in danger of suffering the same fate as their failed Spotify deal.

In terms of some of their new ideas for Netflix, The Duke is said to be looking into a solo project which will involve him flying out to Africa for a documentary.

Prince Harry is known to have a great emotional connection for the continent, particularly Botswana and took Meghan on a camping trip there on their third date.

However, Bower who is the author of 2022 book Revenge: Meghan, Harry And The War Between The Windsors is not confident that the couple will be successful when working separately.

He said: He added: "I don’t believe Harry can do an interesting documentary in Africa.

"Harry has got huge problems. And I don’t think Meghan has a brand to sell because she’s so controversial. She brings too much baggage to it all now. They’re both facing problems."

Meghan is also rumoured to be thinking about relaunching her lifestyle blog The Tig which she previously shut down after becoming a part of the Royal Family.

The Duchess is said to be hopeful that it could be just as successful as Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop or Kourtney Kardashian's Poosh.
