Meghan and Harry FINALLY address Lilibet's christening and hint royals weren't involved

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have finally addressed their daughter Lilibet's christening in their Netflix show, while also confirming the first of their children's godparents.

It has long been rumoured that the couple would bring their one-year-old daughter to the UK so she could be christened in line with royal tradition. Her older brother Archie was baptised at Windsor Castle and some reports had suggested they were keen for Lilibet, now one, to be christened there too.

However, in the couple's explosive Netflix documentary, the youngster's christening was addressed with their close friend Tyler Perry confirming he had been asked to be her godfather.

But it is unclear if the christening has actually taken place, although Tyler dropped hints about the involvement of the royals.

It comes in the final episode of the six-parter when he said Harry and Meghan called him to ask him if he would be Lili’s godfather.

He explained: "I take a minute to take that in, and I thought I’d be honoured. I’d absolutely be honoured.

"And I got off the phone, took it all in, then I called them back, I go ‘Ah hold on a second, does this mean we got to go over there and do all of that in the church with them and figure all that out, because I don’t want to do that.

"Maybe we can do a little private ceremony here and let that be that and if you have to do it there then it’s OK.’”

In the same episode, Harry and Meghan share footage and photos of baby Lilibet, who has rarely been seen since her birth last June.

Harry said: "I think at the moment I see a lot of my wife in Archie and I see a lot of my mum in Lili.

"She’s very Spencer-like. She’s got the same blue eyes, sort of like a golden reddish hair."

Lilibet, whose name was a nickname of the late Queen, also has the middle name, Diana - the same as her late grandmother Princess Diana.

She celebrated her first birthday earlier this year when Harry and Meghan brought her and Archie to the UK for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Close family and friends were invited to celebrate her birthday at Windsor, where there was face-painting and cake, according to guests.

A spokesman for the couple did not name the family members who attended.

After the party, Harry and Meghan shared a lovely snap of their little girl taken at her party, which was snapped by their photographer friend Misan Harriman.
