Meet the 24-year-old responsible for dressing most of the city thanks to her successful Instagram business

There's no denying there are hundreds of Instagram boutiques out there - but one Liverpool business has proved it can stand out among the rest.

Gyspabella is run by 24-year-old Abbie Day who started the business back in 2017 but in the last couple of months she's seen her items really take off.

Abbie took a huge gamble starting the business when many didn't believe it would work - but it's a gamble that's certainly paid off.

She said: "I'm so surprised by it all, but I think if you have an original idea then people will always react positively to it.

"I get orders from across Liverpool and then even Ireland, America, The Netherlands and Australia. I am shocked, I'm always like 'how do they even know about me'.

"People think you need to pay for billboards or advertising but word of mouth is stronger. If you have something original it will completely take your business to the next level."

Gyspabella specialises in women's clothing, with a recent release of a range of hoodies which Abbie designed herself.

Since being released only a couple of weeks ago, Abbie has been flooded with almost 1,000 orders.

Despite her recent success, Abbie admits things haven't always been easy and gave an insight into how hard running an Instagram business really is.

She said: "There is just so much pressure to constantly post and constantly look a certain way.

"My typical day includes dealing with suppliers, posting orders, collecting stock and then having to put a full face of make-up on and do my hair in order to post my clothing on Instagram.

"Instagram is so deceiving, you could post a picture with hair and make-up on and no one knows the background.

"It is petrifying running your own business, it was a huge gamble even my Mum and Dad didn't know whether the business would work.

"I left my office job in March this year. I just thought I did not want to be 40 with kids and have regrets about something I didn't do.

"I run the business on my own as I do have trust issues and am very protective of the business.

"I know there are Instagram businesses out there who use Ali Express and just put up pictures from the supplier, but I try and find different items and will only post stock once it arrives as I want to make sure it looks nice enough for my customers.

"A couple of months ago I was down to my last bit of money which I spent on designing the hoodies so I'm so happy everyone loves them as much as I do."

Abbie can boast celebrities and WAGS among her customers in the city - but insists she doesn't send anything to influencers as her best recommendations come from genuine customers.
