Meet Josh Oyinsan - the Paul Pogba body double who drove 500 miles to sign for Dumbarton

Joshua Oyinsan has revealed he will invite his French superstar pal Paul Pogba to watch him at Dumbarton.

And new signing Josh admits he was so keen to Rock up at Sons he was willing to sleep in his car.

The big striker joined from Eastbourne Borough last week, marking his debut with a goal in Sons’ 2-0 win over East Fife.

But he revealed that he’d signed for the club without even having a place to stay.

Outside of football Josh works as a body double of Pogba for Adidas, however he’s now in a situation that the Manchester United superstar is unlikely to have experienced.

The 27-year-old said: “Someone came to me and said there was an opportunity with a club called Dumbarton.

“Straight away I knew of Dumbarton. Initially when I heard there was interest in Scotland I was a bit sceptical, but once I heard it was Dumbarton I was a bit more open to coming. I know the club has a fair bit of history. I wanted a change. I wanted to try something different.

“Since coming up here, in training and the game on Saturday it’s been great so far. I’m enjoying it.

“Believe it or not though I came up here without knowing where I’m going to stay. I decided I’d just go with my sense, wing it.

“I’m currently in a hotel until next week, after that I’m hoping that something comes off.

“Otherwise I’ll be sleeping in my car!”

Away from the park, Josh works as a body double for Manchester United and France superstar Pogba - and said that he’d be inviting the World Cup winner to a Sons game. He said: “Paul is someone who has become a good friend of mine over the years. Paul does so many adverts for different brands, it takes so long to do an advert and they can’t pay him for that long because he’s a multi-millionaire.

“So they get someone else, the bootleg version, which is me. And we do the adverts together.

“He’s a great guy. We’ve been doing them for five years now and I’m very fortunate to be able to do that.

“I’ll have a word with him about coming to a Dumbarton game!

“I’ll try my luck. We’ll see what he says.

“He has been saying that he wants to watch a game, so now I’m here you never know.”

Even if Pogba (left) isn’t watching on, Josh hopes that his debut showing can be the start of a special relationship with the Dumbarton support.

He added: “Having a good relationship with the support is really important to me. You want somewhere that feels like home.

“ You want to feel loved and appreciated as a player by the fans.

“I was drawn to them straight away and I’d like to think they were drawn to me straight away.”

Manager Stevie Farrell meanwhile was delighted to secure his man.

He said: “I’ve got contacts from England built up over the years, and some built up from when I played down in England with people I trust.

“I knew the type of player I wanted to bring to the club. But it’s not easy to find them.

“People think that strikers who score goals and are built like Josh grow on trees. Believe me, they don’t.

“I worked with a couple of boys who I’ve known for about 10 days to make it happen.

“Credit to Josh. He drove up from Eastbourne on Thursday for training. That’s about eight hours.

“There’s something about him.

“That shows you what he’s like as a man.

“I think he was a fans’ favourite after about five minutes.”

“For his goal he’s up for the header with a real purpose.

“He’ll be a good addition.”
