Meet Co Down girl who went viral after visiting McDonald's on horseback

A Co Down girl has ticked one goal off her bucket list after ordering McDonald's drive-thru on horseback.

Yazmin O'Reilly, who was given the pony as a present from a traveller friend, said she always wanted to do it if she had a horse "quiet enough".

So she set to training Kizzi, who she has had since she was a foal, for the task.

The 17-year-old told Belfast Live, with her parent's support, that she lined up behind other customers at a Newry branch of the fast food giant on Saturday.

"[It's] something I’ve said for years that I’d do if I ever had a horse quiet enough," she explained.

"So I trained my own! I got the pony for free when she was a foal off the travellers as a present.

"I hack her around the town on a regular basis. She’s even been to Tesco car park."

But on Saturday they pair set off with one thing in mind - "a double cheeseburger and chicken selects" which they ordered from the window like every other customer in a car.

As for the staff, she said: "They thought it was class. They were very facilitating and got my food from the window for me."

She told us her parents also "think it’s great because it shows everyone you don’t need a horse worth thousands to have fun with!"
