Meek Mill blasts Nike over LeBron James design

Meek Mill

Meek Mill has called out Nike over its LeBron James collection.

The sports brand recently named one of the basketball legend and hip-hop fan's Nike LeBron 23 collections after Meek's album and single Dreams and Nightmares.

On Tuesday (27.05.26), the rapper wrote on X: "So Nike just gone take my whole brand and mash it up with LeBron[?].

“What is this … why wouldn’t anyone holler at me about this? I thought the sneaks was fake?”

Meek's track Dreams and Nightmares was ranked 92 in Pitchfork's list of the best songs of the 2010s, while the Philadelphia Eagles walked out to the song for the 2018 Super Bowl.

Just eight days ago, his record label Dream Chasers filed a trademark application for the wordmark.

The collection dropped on Tuesday as part of the ongoing series of 23 designs linked to iconic moments in LeBron's career.

As well as sneakers, each item of footwear has a coordinating basketball and graphic T-shirt.

The Dreams and Nightmares style tee had artwork similar to Meek's Dream Chasers 3 mixtape, replacing the rapper in a split design with a lion.

He quipped: "My AI graphics are better btw."

After his complaint, direct links to the product were still live, but error pages appeared for people trying to click the link for the design on Nike's website.

Meek is known for embracing social media, but he previously argued that it shouldn't overshadow everything else he does.

Back in December 2025, he wrote on X: "They pushing ‘Meek’s bad social media rep’ narrative… they never mention the change I make or real stuff I do.

“Helping young men in music change the directions of their lives. I speak out of term on social media because it’s not reality… it’s separate from who I am.”

And he suggested that given his success, the amount he posts on social media shouldn't matter as much as it seems to.

He added: "I been around 15 years, no gimmicks I think I’m doing fine on social media. I may quote a lyric to a song and I’m on every blog with a click bait attached!”
