A MEDICAL emergency at a Glasgow theatre forced the opening night of hit musical The Bodyguard to come to a sudden halt.
The curtain came down while Rachel Marron, played by Sidonie Smith, was on stage performing One Moment in Time, after a first aid emergency in the crowd.
Audience members could be heard shouting before the house lights came up and the performance was stopped.
The show, which runs at the theatre until Saturday, May 30, was paused for around 10 minutes while staff assisted.
A spokesperson said: “Last night’s performance of The Bodyguard was paused because of a first aid emergency in the audience.
“Due to the point in the show when it was stopped, the scene was reset before the show restarted in order to ensure the safety of those on stage.
“We would like to thank our first aiders on staff and our technical teams for their swift response.”
