MediaCity restaurant where kids under 12 eat FREE this summer

The summer holidays are well underway, which means parents are no doubt sick of their kids saying ‘I’m hungry!’ and rummaging through the cupboards for snacks.

With food and energy bills rising, and the school summer holidays squeezing household budgets further, parents looking to keep their children fed and entertained will be able to do so without worrying about the cost of their child’s meal at Salford’s Marco Pierre White.

The New York Italian restaurant, located at the Holiday Inn at Media City, is offering parents a ‘get out of cooking free’ card and offering meals for kids under 12 on the house.

Children can enjoy a two course meal including a starter and main, or a main and dessert with every paying adult main off the à la carte menu. The cheapest main meal item being a margarita pizza for £11.50.

The offer will save parents £12.50, and includes starters like calamari or cheesy garlic bread, followed by a build your own burger, fish fingers or mac n cheese. For dessert, there’s a choice of knickerbocker glory, chocolate brownie, fruit skewers or an ice cream assortment.

James Bayes, Restaurant Manager, said: “For mums and dads, the chance to let someone else do the cooking as well as the clearing and washing up will be quite appealing while kids just love being taken out for a ‘grown up’ meal.

“We also all need a little escapism and the opportunity to pop out for a meal with your family is a great way to do just that. And constantly finding things to do and entertain the kids throughout the holidays can be quite an expensive exercise which is why we’ve put this offer in place.

“The menus are also perfect for kids, so parents won’t have to worry about there not being anything that they like. Whether it’s pasta, fish and chips and steaks, we're expecting to see a lot of happy faces during the holidays.”

A number of other supermarkets, cafes and restaurants have also launched kids eat free or for £1 offers. Marks and Spencer announced that they would be extending their two-week kids eat free offering for the whole of the six week holidays. Other venues offering free or cheap meals for children this summer include Morrisons, Bella Italia, Farmhouse Inns and Hungry Horse. You can find the full list here.
