'Meccha Chameleon' Has Now Sold 7 Million Copies Two Weeks After Release

"Meccha Chameleon," hide-and-seek multiplayer paint game, has now surpassed seven million copies in sales just two weeks after the game was first release.

'Meccha Chameleon' Sells 7 Million Copies

According to a report by IGN, the game actually took less than a week to reach two million copies sold.

The report cites the game's SteamDB page, which notes that the game reached a concurrent player peak of a little over than 20,000 users on its first day. It tallied its all-time peak thus far on June 21 with 340,534 players.

IGN also notes that players have become so invested in this hide-and-seek game that some have even made the effort to recreate the Mona Lisa in-game.

An Instagram user named artofmenevir took to social media to show how this has been done.

What Exactly Is 'Meccha Chameleon?'

If this is your first time hearing of "Meccha Chameleon," what you have to do in this game is to essentially play hide and seeker. If you're the seeker, your task is to find everyone hiding before the time is up.

Now, if you're the one who has to hide, this is where things get creative. As a character, you pretty much have a white body, and you have to paint yourself to match the stage if you want to hide and blend in.

In short, you have to mimic where you're hiding. The better your painting skills, the better odds you have of escaping the seekers.

As this is a multiplayer game, you have the option to play with friends, but you likewise have the option of playing on your own.

Custom Maps in 'Meccha Chameleon'

One of the features you get to enjoy in "Meccha Chameleon" is the creation of custom maps. While the base game has its own selection of maps, the community-made ones are worth checking out as well.

According to Polygon, some of the best custom-made maps in "Meccha Chameleon" are as follows:

  • Art Gallery
  • Fall Guys Level
  • The Market
  • Maplestory Lacheln
  • Minecraft House
  • Swimming Pool
  • Viking Dining

It should be noted that customs maps have to been installed from the Steam Workshop.
