An Irishwoman's innovative deodorant has been nominated for the British Vogue Beauty Awards.
Meath native Eimear Tully launched her own natural deodorant spray after health struggles prevented her from using a traditional aerosol.
She explained: "I grew up with asthma and used antiperspirant sprays for years but it affected my breathing, so I tried many of the natural ones available, but I felt they could be improved on in terms of effectiveness and ease of use."
After over two years of careful research and development, Eimear launched Indeora, a magnesium-based deodorant, scented with coconut and vanilla oils.
Indeora has been well received in Ireland and the UK and Eimear hopes to launch it on the US market soon.
Vogue's beauty and lifestyle director Kathleen Baird selected the product as a top pick and it has since been nominated in the Best in Wellness category in The Vogue Beauty Awards 2020.
Eimear mostly runs the business by herself and admitted it can be difficult however, she has been supported by Starting Strong, a programme which assists female entrepreneurs.
She said: "I've been running a lot of the operations by myself since we launched and sometimes it can be tough, but in 2019 I joined the Starting Strong program and have been blown away by the support and guidance I’ve received.
"It has provided me with an invaluable network of likeminded and supportive women and I know it’s a group I will be part of for years to come.”
Indeora is currently stocked in over 85 pharmacies and health stores around the country and is also available to buy online on indeora.com.
