McDonald's manager threatened with gun after row over fries being too salty

A McDonald's manager was threatened with a gun by customers who were angry about the salt on their chips.

Police were called to a branch of the fast food chain in Houston, Texas, last week following the bizarre encounter.

Officers quickly established that the suspects had been in a "verbal altercation" with staff over their order.

CCTV and eyewitnesses then revealed to the authorities that the pair had pulled a gun at the drive-thru window.

Constable Mark Herman said in a statement that Davion Guillory, 23, and Trekyia Cohen, 25, were then identified and arrested.

Both have since been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, the Harris County Precinct 4 officer confirmed.

The statement said: "On July 4, 2021, deputies with Constable Mark Herman's Office were flagged down at the McDonalds restaurant located in the 128 block of E. Richey Road in reference to an Aggravated Assault.

"Responding deputies were able to locate the suspect vehicle and detained the occupants who were identified as Davion Guillory and Treykia Cohen.

"Further investigation revealed that they were in a verbal altercation with the manager over salt on their fries.

"Video surveillance and multiple witnesses captured the suspects displaying a firearm at the manager at the drive thru during the altercation. The firearm was recovered from the vehicle.

"Further investigation revealed that Treykia Cohen was out on probation for Aggravated Robbery with a Deadly Weapon.

Davion Guillory and Treykia Cohen were arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail, charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

"They each received a $10,000.00 bond out of the 178th and 180th District Court."
