McDonald's fans beg fast food chain to ditch McCrispy and bring back fan favourite

McDonald's first new permanent burger in 15 years has been given the thumbs down by some fast food fans.

Customers are calling for the McCrispy to be axed and the Chicken Legend brought back on the menu.

The McCrispy is a chicken breast fillet in a sour-dough bun with lettuce, mayo and black pepper.

The Chicken Legend burger was taken off the menu around the same time.

While some customers seem to be happy with the new addition, others were less impressed, reports LadBible.

Fans on Twitter called on McDonald's to bring back the Chicken Legend (McDonald's)

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: "Petition for McDonald’s to get rid of McCrispy and bring back chicken legend," alongside a crying emoji.

Another added the McCrispy "slaps" [slang for something fantastic] "but you have to add cheese and dip it in sauce".

Another said: "Nahhh cause the Chicken Legend slaps and the McChicken is even nicer than that McCrispy. They're selling dreams."

"Sorry but the McCrispy is just okay. The Chicken Legend was wayyyy better," added a third, while a fourth said, "@McDonaldsUK you need to bring back the Chicken Legend!"

A fifth said: "The McCrispy is just a cheaper, poorer quality chicken legend which is exactly why they discontinued the chicken legend.

"No fancy marketing is going to brush that up."

Not everyone is a fan of the McCrispy (McDonald's)

But a fair few people jumped in to defend the new burger

"So I just tried the McCrispy, firstly please manage your expectations it's McDonalds, not a central London burger bar," wrote one.

"Considering it's only £5 and it's from McDonalds it absolutely SLAPS! It really is crispy and a little spicy. I added extra cheese and Omg!"

Another added: "Bro the McCrispy burger is the ONE, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise."

A third said: "I’m not tolerating any McCrispy slander. That burger slaps. You lot just want to be different."

The burger is described as "crunchy 100% chicken breast fillet, marinated in black pepper and cayenne" with lashings of "classic mayonnaise with cracked black pepper and a savoury roasted chicken flavour".

It comes in a "four-inch artisan glazed bun with a sweet nutty toasted flavour".

The Mirror has contacted McDonald's for comment.
