McDonald's confirms when it will launch TRIPLE Cheeseburger

McDonald's has confirmed it will add a Triple Cheeseburger to its menu.

The fast food giant says it has decided to make the triple burger part of its permanent menu following a trial in Yorkshire, in February, which it says proved to be a success.

A spokesman said: "You asked, McDonald’s delivered.

"Following a successful trial period earlier this year, the Triple Cheeseburger will now officially join the Saver Menu as a permanent addition from Wednesday 2nd September."

The burger contains three 100% British and Irish beef patties, served -obviously- in a bun, with onions pickles, mustard and cheese.

The new item will form part of McDonald's Saver Menu, priced from £2.19 for the sandwich. Fries and drinks will cost extra.

McDonald's has also confirmed it will keep the Double Quarter Pounder with cheese on its permanent menu.

The burger chain - which has recently launched delivery services in Blyth, Northumberland and Stanley, County Durham, through Uber Eats - has reopened restaurants across the UK for eat-in, takeaway and delivery orders, since it shut completely in March due to the coronavirus lockdown.

It says: "In line with Government guidance, social distancing and safety measures at restaurants remain in place.

"This includes hand sanitiser at every entrance for delivery couriers and dine-in and takeaway customers, table-service and contact tracing for customers who dine-in, and carefully managing the number of customers and crew inside each restaurant."
