MUMBAI: The Mumbai Cricket Association on Thursday cancelled the training sessions of all its senior teams-men's, women's and men's under-25-at the Sharad Pawar Indoor Academy in BKC after a player in the Mumbai Under-25 squad tested positive for COVID-19 on the day.
In an email (TOI has a copy) to Apex Council members on Thursday, MCA Executive secretary CS Naik wrote: "Dear Apex Council members, this is to inform you that one Under-25 player has tested positive for COVID-19 on 29th September 2021. He was attending the fitness camp at the MCA Academy, BKC. As a safety precaution, we have cancelled all the sessions at the Academy for the next three days. In the meantime, we will get the entire premises sanitized. Also we have asked all the players and support staff who were present at the Academy to get tested again. This is for your kind information."
"All the three senior teams' players will undergo fresh RT-PCR tests," a source said.
Around 10 days back, a player in the Mumbai under-19 women's team had tested positive and was thus ruled out for the women's under-19 One-day league matches. The squad was undergoing a camp at the MCA's BKC facility.
