Maximum Football is set to officially launch on PlayStation 5 on June 17. That date also marks the game’s full 1.0 release on Xbox and Steam, as it leaves Early Access and Game Preview after a year of updates and community-driven development.
The 1.0 update focuses on tightening up the gameplay and introducing a few long-requested features. One of the biggest additions is weather, with rain and snow making their way into the game. For now, the effects are purely visual, but the team plans to roll out gameplay-impacting weather effects later this year.
Work is also being done on a revamped playcalling system aimed at giving CPU coaching a more realistic feel. The goal is to improve late-game decision-making, create a better balance between running and passing, as well as making smarter defensive adjustments.
There’s also more room for customization on the horizon. Players will be able to change turf and stadium seat colors, offering more ways to personalize their team’s look, whether they want something traditional or something that really stands out.
With the upcoming 1.0 update and PlayStation 5 launch, Maximum Football is stepping into its next phase. It’s available to play for free right now through Steam Early Access and Xbox Game Preview, with the full release just a couple of weeks away.
