If the Mavericks are to take a series lead on the Clippers, they'll do so without Kristaps Porzingis' services.
The Dallas big man has been ruled out for Tuesday night's Game 5, which will be the second straight game he's missed in the best-of-seven matchup.
The Mavericks also added Dorian Finney-Smith (questionable to play with a left hip strain and right hip soreness) to the NBA's injury report Tuesday morning. Luka Doncic (sprained left ankle) and Trey Burke (sprained left ankle) remain probable to play.
The Mavericks and Clippers are scheduled for an 8 p.m. tip-off with the series tied at 2.
Head coach Rick Carlisle on Monday declined to give a specific update on the results of an MRI that Porzingis (right knee soreness) underwent Sunday, but he said "nothing" on the scans showed reason to rule out Porzingis a day before the game.
The Mavericks scratched Porzingis from the lineup just before their Game 4 overtime win after he felt pain in his knee during warm-ups. Carlisle found out about 35 minutes before the opening tip.
