Maurizio Sarri praises Celtic as Lazio boss warns his side of European 'delusions'

Lazio boss Maurizio Sarri has praised Celtic and warned his side not to be complacent ahead of the two sides facing off in Rome.

Brendan Rodgers' men sit bottom of their Champions League after earning just one point from their first four matches.

The Serie A side team won 2-1 when the teams met back in October after an injury-time winner from veteran Pedro.

And despite the Parkhead club's struggles in Europe this season, Sarri insists his players must not "delude" themselves that it will be an easy game.

He said: "Celtic are a good team, they have good rhythm, decent technical qualities. They are not an easy team to beat.

“We must not delude ourselves about the negative results away from home because they were games conditioned by numerical inferiority.

"It’s a good team and it will certainly be a complicated match. Now we’re preparing for the match. I said what I had to say yesterday.

"Now it’s time to regroup, with the great hope that the atmosphere that exists is in the Champions League, give us something more.”
