Mauricio Pochettino can land perfect first transfer by sanctioning £44m Chelsea departures

Mauricio Pochettino looks to have been told exactly how he can secure his first transfer at Chelsea following his expected appointment as the Blues' new manager. With the summer window fast approaching, Chelsea are awaiting a busy period with sealing outgoings the major priority while a few additions look set to be made as well.

Following a mass squad overhaul, Todd Boehly desperately needs to offload some players at the end of the season and preferably before June 30 to meet an FFP deadline. With much of the work done in the recent transfer markets, Chelsea only need to add a few more players in crucial positions to complete their rebuild.

A new striker, central midfielder and goalkeeper are the priority for Chelsea this summer with numerous players for each role being tracked. Up front, Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen and Jonathan David are some of the options with Declan Rice, Moises Caicedo and Alexis Mac Allister as some of the midfield choices.

In between the sticks, a vast amount of names have been linked but one looks to have edged out in front as the priority. According to Calciomercato, Pochettino has given his approval for Chelsea to sign Andre Onana. The Inter shot-stopper has impressed this season helping his club reach the Champions League semi-finals.

Chelsea have already began dialogue with Inter for the 27-year-old after setting a meeting to discuss the future of loanee Romelu Lukaku also included conversations about Onana. Initially, the Blues were said to have enquired about a potential straight swap for Onana with Kepa Arrizabalaga, but that unofficial proposal was rebuffed.

Instead, Inter have returned with their own demands for a swap deal as Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Nerazzurri are looking to land either Trevoh Chalobah or Ruben Loftus-Cheek. According to CIES Football Observatory, Chalobah is valued at £30.7million with Loftus-Cheek at £13.2million.

While it is not clear whether Chelsea would accept this deal, the duo are expected to be possible stars that the club could sell this summer. However, their exits as homegrown stars would not count as sales and thus no pure profit on Chelsea's financial books which could impact their decision.
