Matthijs de Ligt has suggested he would like to follow Frenkie de Jong to Barcelona .
The La Liga champions are keen to snap up the Ajax captain, who has emerged as the hottest property in world football.
Reports this week suggested De Ligt was heading for the Nou Camp but a deal has not yet been agreed with his agent Mino Raiola.
That has given Manchester United hope they could yet lure the teenager to the Premier League, despite missing out on the top four.
Barca have already swooped to sign De Jong and his teammate and close friend has lavished praise on the midfielder.
De Ligt has refused to rule out joining him at the Nou Camp but insists nothing has been agreed.
"I think he has developed very well this year, he deserves the move to Barcelona," De Ligt told VoetbalPrimeur.
"It would be nice to play with Frenkie in a team, but I don’t know if it will happen."
De Ligt was speaking after claiming the Dutch player of the year award, having voted for his teammate, who won the young star prize.

Liverpool had also been tipped to make a move for the 19-year-old but Jurgen Klopp has cooled his interest.
The Reds were reluctant to splash out a huge sum on a defender after bringing in Virgil van Dijk and Alisson for big money.
Klopp is said to have faith in Joe Gomez, after his return to fitness following a broken leg, while Joe Matip and Dejan Lovren proved their worth in the final weeks of the season.
