Matt Hancock heckled during live Good Morning Britain interview after recovering from coronavirus

Health Secretary Matt Hancock was heckled live on air this morning during a Good Morning Britain interview after recovering from coronavirus.

The MP spoke to GMB hosts Ben Shephard and Ranvir Singh about his personal battle with Covid-19 after testing positive last month.

Matt Hancock revealed yesterday during the government's daily coronavirus briefing that the aim is to test 100,000 people a day for the virus by the end of April.

However, during the live GMB interview today, Hancock became distracted and interrupted the chat to say he was being heckled, the Mirror Online reports.

Matt then shared his surprise that the comments were nice things, as Ben and Ranvir expected some not so nice remarks were coming their way.

Matt interrupted the hosts after repeatedly looking away from the camera, and told them: "I'm sorry, I'm slightly distracted because I'm being heckled by somebody who is shouting very nice things."

"It's distracting so I apologise," he added as the hosts could be heard roaring with laughter.

Ben quipped: "It is a strange time for all of us Matt Hancock, a strange time indeed."

Matt added: "They're saying Matt Hancock is great which has never happened to me before."

It's then that Ben joked: "Have you taken your family with you on this live? Are they there somewhere? Maybe it's one of the family members."

The MP laughed it off, before saying: "That's right. Thanks mum."

As the interview came to an end the heckler could be heard shouting things on the live link, leading to the hosts bringing up the moment yet again.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
