Matt Hancock heckled and booed at I'm A Celeb reunion as stars attend Seann Walsh's gig

Matt Hancock went along to support his jungle mate Seann Walsh at his latest comedy gig - but he was booed in scenes which resulted in several audience members leaving the show.

According to The Mirror, the former Health Secretary was joined by his girlfriend, Gina Coladangelo and his jungle campmate Boy George to support Seann at his gig at London's Soho Theatre.

Seann announced that Hancock was in the audience, resulting in the MP being heckled by an audience member.

His night out at the comedy gig was his first public outing since he confirmed he would not be standing for re-election.

Seann took to the stage and made the announcement that the 44-year-old was in the audience.

He said: "Come on you can make more noise than that. Matt Hancock is here tonight."

Many booed after learning the news and one elderly man even stood up and said: "What is that w**ker doing here?"

Seann then said: "It is sold out tonight. About a month ago I could not sell out a phone box but here we are.

"I won't bang on about Covid obviously it was a while ago now. But do you remember the 5pm briefings? "We were all sitting there around the sofa, perhaps with your family or partner. It was tense and we did not know what was going to happen. We were all sitting there every day like 'What are they going to say?' We had no idea, did we?

"Not for a second did I ever think while I was watching that TV that one day I would be in the jungle being an undercover mole with Matt Hancock. I certainly did not think that one day I would watch that man wash.

"People say to me 'What was it like when Matt came through the bushes? What went through your mind?' Well I looked at him and thought 'Well at least there is one person I can beat.' You b*stards. You let Matt get further than me. What is wrong with you? Unbelievable."

However, the elderly man who earlier on called Mr Hancock a 'w**ker' got up with his wife and left shouting to Seann: "You should not have let Matt Hancock in here. It is an absolute disgrace. I can't believe you joke about it.”Seann tried to calm the couple down saying: "It is a comedy show."

But he hit back, saying: "It is not a comedy when people in families have died is it? It is not a comedy."

After the man left, Seann looked a bit tense, telling the audience: "I told my mum not to let my dad come. He is absolutely furious. I cannot believe this. Oh my God. Matt, I am going to go to a different bar after the gig. It is just some comedy, relax people."

The comedian then relaxed a bit and got on with the show, and later said: "That was the most awkward moment I have ever experienced in my life.

"Boy George is here as well. I should have opened with that. My mistake. The first concert my mum took me to was a Culture Club concert at Wembley Arena not then when I was 12 did I think that 20 years later I was going to be in a pool with Boy George.

He then added: "For the next hour please shh then we will all go home. No-one stab Matt Ok? It is important. It feels very strange now that he came third. I don't know what is going on."

After the gig, Seann took to Instagram to share snaps from the evening, writing: "Tonight's gig was, erm, eventful. That's the last time I let my dad come to the show."

Last month, Matt Hancock received great backlash after it was revealed that he would be entering the I'm A Celebrity jungle as a campmate.

A petition was launched by Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice UK to stop the Tory MP from appearing on the ITV show, with many being outraged that he was branded a 'celebrity'.

The petition said that having to watch Mr Hancock appear on the reality show will cause "real pain and anguish to those of us who lost loved ones to Covid-19".

Despite their efforts, and gaining thousands of signatures, Mr Hancock took part in the show and placed third, becoming runner up to Hollyoaks actor Owen Warner and the winner, Lioness Jill Scott.
