Kai Havertz will be a huge player for Chelsea.
That is the view of fellow Blues midfielder Mateo Kovacic who has jumped to the defence of the Germany international who is still adapting to life in the Premier League.
A £72m arrival from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer transfer window, Havertz hasn't quite hit the ground running at Stamford Bridge just yet.
After starting on the bench in Chelsea 's last two games, there could be a recall for the attacking midfielder against Aston Villa this evening.
And he could replace Kovacic in the starting XI.
But despite being rivals for a place in Frank Lampard's dream midfield, Kovacic is convinced that it's just a matter of time before Blues fans see the best of Havertz.
"I like a lot Kai Havertz," Kovacic told the club's official website. "He is such a talented player. He is a great signing for Chelsea.
"He will be a huge player for Chelsea and for world football, I’m sure of that.
"He has huge potential. He is such an elegant player."
With that said, Kovacic has revealed what Havertz must do in order to silence any of his critics.
"He just needs to learn to play in the Premier League, that’s all," Kovacic added. "It’s a difficult league with a huge tempo, and he will get used to it.
"Game by game he is getting better so I have no fear for Kai."
