Mason Greenwood names four fastest Manchester United players

Daniel James was a surprise omission from Mason Greenwood's dream relay team comprise of current Manchester United players, as the striker picked the likes of Diogo Dalot and Brandon Williams instead.

Greenwood— in an interview with Soccer Bible— was asked "If you could choose a 4 x100 metres sprint team with your teammates, who would be in it?" and picked Dalot, Williams, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, with the latter running the final leg.

It may come as a surprise to some that James, one of the quickest players at the club right now, wasn't included, nor were Fred or Jesse Lingard who have clocked some of the top speeds by United players this season.

Greenwood said: "That’s hard because we’ve got some really fast players. I’ve got to have Marcus Rashford on the last bit, Brandon Williams too, he’s rapid, Anthony Martial, and probably Diogo Dalot, because he’s very fast as well."

It was then put to the 18-year-old: "You’ve left yourself and Daniel James out then?"

He replied: "Oh yeah… can it be 6 x 100m?"

Greenwood has hugely impressed since breaking into the United team in the past 12 months. Despite only celebrating his 18th birthday in October, he's netted 10 senior goals and has become an option even on the right wing for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

He revealed his natural pace and athleticism comes from playing a number of sports as a schoolboy.

"I just used to play football, a bit of athletics, rugby," he explained. "All kinds of sports really. I was always good at the track events at school."
