A gang of masked burglars targeted the homes of two elderly men in the space of an hour, and one of the victims had bleach sprayed in his face.
The thugs burgled a house on Bird Street in Ince, Wigan , shortly after 6.30pm on Monday, October 14.
The victim - an 89-year-old man - answered the door to four men pretending to be from Wigan Council.
They told him they were there to check the water supply.
But the offenders stole a number of personal items from inside his home.
Shortly after 7pm on the same day, a 79-year-old man had his house on Snowden Avenue in Worsley Mesnes burgled by four men.
The culprits sprayed his face with bleach, but thankfully he wasn't seriously injured.
The offenders fled the scene with a quantity of cash.
Police are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward with information.
The gang are described as white men, wearing all dark clothing and had Wigan accents.
One is described as a white man in his 20s, heavy build, 5ft 8 tall, aged approximately 26, wearing all black clothing and a mask.
Another is said to be a white man, stocky build, 5ft 8 – 5ft 10 tall, wearing all dark clothing and carrying a screwdriver.
The third offender is described as a white man in his 20s, of stocky build and wearing all dark clothing.
Offender four is said to be a white man, of stocky build, wearing all dark clothing.
