Masked burglars break into house and threaten man with knife in terrifying attack

Police have released CCTV footage after masked burglars broke into a house and threatened a man with a knife.

Detectives say the victim was 'restrained' as the gang demanded cigarettes during the terrifying attack on Ulundi Street in Radcliffe.

A 39-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment for minor injuries.

Footage from a Ring doorbell shows the suspects running along the back of Ulundi Street and Abden Street in the direction of Coomassie Street.

No arrests have been made, and enquiries are ongoing.

Nothing was stolen in the attack, which took place at 5.15am on Thursday, December 30.

Police want to speak to anyone who may have seen anything in the area at the time, or may have Ring doorbell or CCTV footage.

Det Insp Alison Witkiewicz said: "This was an extremely distressing incident for the victim, and also very concerning for the community.

"We are investigating and additional officers will be visible in the area as we continue to carry out enquiries.

"We believe there were a fair amount of people in the area at the time, and we're keen to speak to anyone who may have seen anything, or have dash-cam, or CCTV footage that could help our enquiries."
