Martin & Shirlie Kemp unveiled as Cat & Mouse on The Masked Singer in ITV's third elimination

Cat and Mouse has been unmasked as Martin and Shirlie Kemp on The Masked Singer.

Five stars - Otter, Jellyfish, Cat and Mouse, Phoenix and Knitting - all performed for a second time in the competition tonight in a bid to keep their mask firmly on. However, one star found themselves in the bottom two and ended up being booted out of the show.

The four panellists - Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora and Mo Gilligan - were on hand to give their opinions on who was behind the mask but were left shocked when the person was finally revealed at the end of tonight's show.

Martin confessed he was more nervous being under the mask, as he confessed: "I was more nervous. I could literally hear my heart in my ears," whilst Shirlie said it was harder to sing in the mask than out of one.
"It is just so off the wall. It’s so much harder to sing in the mask than you imagine it will be," she added.

On tonight's show, viewers were treated to a time machine special - as the characters performed a string of hits from different decades. The two with the lowest votes - Knitting and Cat and Mouse - had to sing again, before one was unmasked.

Jellyfish opened the show and sang Hozier's Take Me To Church, impressing with their incredible performance. In their clue package, they talked about being part of a group and having a support network and a cassette tape with the words good magic on it was shown. The panel guessed it could be Janet Jackson, Kelly Clarkson or Little Mix star Leigh Anne Pinnock.

Cat and Mouse were the second act to perform and their VT opened with them running through an old film style cobbled street, which the panel said reminded them of ITV soap Coronation Street.

There was a list of numbers written in French with the number nine circled and at one point, Cat placed a piece of garlic on the floor, which is usually used to ward vampires away. Mouse also described Cat as a detective and judge all wrapped into one.

Phoenix performed third on the night, and the panel are convinced they're an actor after they said they were ready for a close up and a film clipboard was held up in front of them. There was a football in the VT, with the panel wondering if the person was once a sporting star and they had gone onto be an actor. They said the phrase life imitates art was vice versa for them.

Otter was the fourth to perform and they wowed with their rendition of Reflection from the movie Mulan. As part of their clue package, they spoke about a link to the police - maybe as a role they had done in the past - whilst also thinking it could be a comedian. The otter fell to the floor at the end of their performance and needed help getting up.

Knitting was the final star to perform and they opened their clue package by saying giving a knitted gift was a kind and generous thing like them. They also said they had never been in trained in something they were known for.
