Arsenal have been handed a huge boost after Martin Odegaard training ahead of their Champions League clash with Bayern Munich.

Odegaard has been sidelined since early October with a knee injury but is closing in on a return and is pushing to make his comeback at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.

Viktor Gyokeres is still not back in training, having missed the last three Arsenal games with the hamstring injury he suffered at Burnley on November 1.

Arsenal have been short on attacking players over the past month, but their injury crisis is finally easing.

Gabriel Martinelli and Noni Madueke both returned to the Arsenal squad at the weekend for the 4-1 win over Tottenham, with the latter coming off the bench for the final 12 minutes.

Gabriel Jesus is back in full training, but Mikel Arteta has hinted that he will play a friendly behind closed doors before returning to first-team action.

The Brazilian has been on the sidelines since January, when he was forced to undergo surgery after a serious knee injury.

Kai Havertz was not in training on Tuesday as he continues to recover from knee surgery in August.

Arsenal have not had a recognised No9 for the last three games and that has led to Mikel Merino leading the line.

Merino has performed well in that time, scoring twice against Slavia Prague and claiming an assist in the north London derby, but the return of Gyokeres is a major boost.
