Martin Lewis urges Brits to haggle with existing broadband provider

Martin Lewis is urging Brits to haggle with their existing broadband provider in the latest of his live shows.

Tonight on the Martin Lewis Money Show, it was revealed nine million people are out of contract and overpaying by hundreds of pounds a year.

When you call up to renew your broadband, you only get the cheapest renewal price.

But this isn't always the cheapest price you could get out of the provider overall.

Martin Lewis went through what the big internet giants tend to do, and there's a way to get your price down even lower.

Martin also said: "Generally, if you're out of contract, use the deals I'm about to show you, the super cheap ones, and use those as a benchmark to go to your existing provider and say will you match it.

"If they say no, ask them to leave and you get put through to disconnections.

"That's where they have the real power to haggle with you."

Another top tip he gave was that broadband only deals can actually cost you even more than a package deal.

Martin Lewis Money Show is on ITV next Thursday at 8.30pm.
